Our promise to Pattaya's children: what LariDea will give back as it grows
LariDea opened on 16 December 2025 in Pattaya, the city where Amedea, the younger of our 2 daughters, was born.
From the first day, we wanted LariDea to do some good beyond our own doors. We want more of Pattaya's children to have a safe, happy place to play, including children who don't often get one.
Here's what we plan to give back, when it starts, and the rules we'll follow.
Where we are today
We'd like to be honest with you. LariDea is a young family business, and we're still working toward profit. We haven't started an organized giving programyet.
We're making a promise we know we can keep. Once LariDea is profitable, giving back to Pattaya's children becomes one of our goals, and this page tells you what that will look like.
When it starts
We can't give you a date yet. We'll be ready when LariDea earns more each month than it costs to run. When that happens, we'll choose our first partner and announce the first step here, in Warm Stories. Until then, this page is our promise in writing.
What we'll give
When we start, our support will take 3 forms:
- Free play at LariDea. Free entry for children from associations that raise and protect children, and for families on lowincomes.
- Gifts from our products. Things from LariDea that children and families can enjoy.
- Financial support. Donations to associations that raise and protect children in Pattaya.
For a child who rarely gets a day out, a day of play means climbing, bouncing, a craft to finish, and adults who are there to look after them.
Who we want to help
We want to support 2 groups.
The first is children cared for by associations that raise and protect children. Some of these children live in children's homes. Many have families who can't look after them for now. Associations know these children well, so we'll follow their advice on what helps most.
The second is families on low incomes, where a day at an indoor playground doesn't fit the budget.
Our hope is simple: that these children enjoy a good day, and feel part of a bigger family, the way every child should.
The rules we'll follow
Helping children well takes care. These are the rules we'll hold ourselves to:
- Registered partners only. We'll work with registered organizations that care for or protect children. Not every children's home in Thailand is registered, so we'll check before we start.
- Children's privacy first. We won't post photos or videos of children from partner organizations. When we share news, we'll share what was given, not faces.
- The same care for every child. Children who come to LariDea through our partners get the same stickers at check-in, the same age-zoned floors and the same team as every other child.
- We'll tell you what we did. When the first step happens, we'll write about it here in Warm Stories: what we gave, to whom, and how many children took part.
Why children, and why Pattaya
LariDea carries the names of our daughters, Ilaria and Amedea. Our mascot, Rainbow Pony, began as a gift from one sister to the other: a pony to look after a newborn in hospital. Looking after children is where this whole place comes from.
Pattaya is our home, and it's where our team is from. It's where families come to play with us every day. Our 2 daughters are growing up in this city, and we'd like more children here to have the same chance to play. When we give back, we want it to stay in Pattaya.
A note to other business owners
We also hope LariDea shows something to other entrepreneurs: that a family business can build a safe, clean and happy place for families in Thailand, and plan to give back from the start. We'd like to see more places like this across Thailand.
If you're thinking of building a place for children and families, we'd be glad to share what we've learned, from keeping ages apart on separate floors to training every team member before their first shift. Write to us at laridea.kids.cafe@gmail.com.
How you can help today
You don't need to do anything to be part of this. If you'd like to help, there's one thing that helps.
If you know a registered association in Pattaya that raises or protects children, tell us about it at reception, or send us a message. We'd like to be ready when the time comes. If you run or work with such an association, we'd be glad to hear from you directly.
Quick answers
Is LariDea already giving? Not yet. We'll start once LariDea is profitable, and we'll announce the first step here.
Why tell us now? Because we want you to know what kind of place LariDea wants to be. Saying it in public also helps us keep our word.
Who will you work with? Registered associations in Pattaya that raise or protect children, and families on low incomes.
Will partner children appear in your photos? No. We'll share what we gave, never the children's faces.
What this means for your family
Your visit stays the same: the same floors, the same team, the same rules we use at home with Ilaria and Amedea.
What this story adds is a promise about the future. The place where your child plays is run by a family that plans to stay in Pattaya for the long term, and to share what it builds with the children of this city. If you'd like to know how it's going, ask us at reception any time.
Come and play
We're open every day from 11:00 to 20:00, public holidays included, at the Again Project next to Terminal 21 Pattaya.
