Rainbow Pony and Astro Pony: our playground for ages 1 to 10
LariDea is named after our 2 daughters, Ilaria and Amedea. We wanted a place in Pattaya where they could climb, slide and make friends while we sat down with a proper coffee. We couldn't find one, so we built it at the Again Project, next to Terminal 21, and opened on 16 December 2025.
We work to one rule: if we wouldn't leave Ilaria or Amedea in a room, that room doesn't open. The way the playground is laid out comes straight from that rule.
Why we keep ages apart
A 1-year-old and a 7-year-old play in very different ways. The younger child is still finding their balance and moves carefully. The older one runs, jumps and climbs as high as the equipment allows.
They need different things from a playground. Toddlers need low heights and soft edges. Older children need height, bounce, speed and room to run.
Put them on the same climbing frame and both miss out. The toddler can get knocked over, and the older child has to hold back.
So our playground has 2 floors for 2 age groups:
- Ground floor, Rainbow Pony: ages 1 to 3
- Upper floor, Astro Pony: ages 4 to 10
Our team keeps to this split all day, busy weekends included. Children pick it up fast. Many of them know “their” pony long before they know which floor it's on.
Rainbow Pony: ages 1 to 3, ground floor
Most first visits start here. Everything on this floor is sized for toddlers:
- soft shapes to climb, and slides
- a ball pit
- a pony carousel
- building blocks and toys for pretend play
- an activities corner for simple crafts
At this age, play is practice. Climbing a soft step, sliding down and climbing back up is how toddlers work on balance and coordination. Sharing the ball pit teaches them to play near other children and to wait for a turn.
The reception desk and the café counter are on this floor too. We put them here so parents of the youngest children are never far away. If your toddler decides the slide is too big after all, you're a few steps from them.
Astro Pony: ages 4 to 10, upper floor
Upstairs, the play gets bigger. We designed Astro Pony with a specialist who works with children, for kids who want more of a challenge:
- trampolines
- a zipline
- foam and ball pits
- climbing walls, steps and tunnels
- a spiral slide
- swings, and a suspended net with yoga balls
- an interactive wall
Children aged 4 to 7 love to test themselves: one more step up the wall, one more jump on the trampoline. Equipment made for their size lets them try those small risks in a padded, supervised space. Each small success makes the next climb a little easier.
We designed Astro Pony with 4 to 7-year-olds in mind, and children aged 8 to 10 are welcome up here too.
The birthday stage is up here as well, so birthday parties happen away from the toddler area.
Cool, clean and indoors
Pattaya is hot most of the year and wet for part of it. The playground is indoors and air-conditioned, so a rainy afternoon or a very hot day doesn't cancel play.
High-touch surfaces are wiped every hour. Today's cleaning checklist is on the wall, and our team will show you what has been done so far. Shoes stay at the entrance, so the floors your child crawls on stay free of street dirt. Our story about cleanliness and safety explains the full routine.
Where you fit in
Your child plays, and you stay close. Our house rules ask every parent or guardian to stay with their child and keep them in sight, on either floor, unless a nanny is looking after them. Parents have their own entry ticket, so you can join your child in the play area. There's seating for parents on both floors.
Play supervisors work on both floors for the whole opening day. They know the zones and the rules, and they know which child came with which adult.
Everyone on the floor speaks Thai and English. Nobody starts their first shift before training on check-in, check-out and what to do if something goes wrong.
If you'd like more help, you can book nanny time by the hour. Each nanny looks after 1 child, and you're free to leave LariDea while they do. Our story about the nanny service explains how it works.
If it's your toddler's first playground
Some 1-year-olds head straight for the ball pit. Others want to watch from the side first. Both are normal.
Start together on the ground floor and sit where your child can see you. Let them choose what to touch first. Toddlers often relax after watching other children play for a few minutes, and a familiar face nearby helps them settle sooner.
Your first visit, step by step
- Walk in. You don't need to book. If the floor is full, we'll tell you honestly how long the wait is.
- Check in at reception. We register your child's name and age, plus your name and phone number, so we can reach you quickly if weneed to.
- Socks on, shoes off. Children and adults wear socks on both floors. Forgot them? LariDea grip socks are sold at reception.
- Choose your play time. Sessions last 1, 3 or 5 hours. Prices are on our Playground page.
- Meet the floor. A team member walks you to the zone for your child's age and explains the house rules.
What to bring and how long to stay
Dress your child in clothes that are easy to climb and jump in. Leggings or long trousers are comfortable on the climbing walls and the net. For toddlers, a spare top is handy.
For the youngest, you can bring formula or baby food. Other food and drinks from outside aren't allowed, and café food stays in the café, away from the play areas.
For a first visit with a toddler, 1 hour is a good start. Older children may want longer, and if your child is having a great time, you can extend on theday.
One tip: staying more than 10 minutes past your paid time adds a full hour, so keep an eye on the clock.
A few gentle rules
Our house rules are short. They keep play gentle for everyone:
- No pushing and no rough play. Bigger children give smaller ones room.
- No running in the café.
- If your child is unwell, please let them rest at home. We may ask a child who seems ill to come back another day.
- Follow the signs and our team's instructions.
Come and see it
The best way to judge a playground is to watch your own child in it. We're open every day from 11:00 to 20:00, public holidays included, at the Again Project next to Terminal 21 Pattaya.
